Core Tanto Black FRN, Black Top Shield one of the best knives for everyday use with two ways to open the Blade, with a flipper or oval opening, now with a modified tanto blade. A folder you can always rely on thanks to its sturdy, durable blade equipped with a strong tip for penetration and a sharp main cut. N690Co – cobalt-rich 1.65% (Co) corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C) martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V). Developed to provide better wear resistance compared to the original Böhler N690 steel, but with higher cobalt (Co) content in its composition. It features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Hardened in the 58-61 HRC range. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade – wide, Tanto type finished with a scratch-masking Stone Washed method and coated with Top Shield®. It uses a mixed grind, in the rear part is a high, concave grind for cutting and precision work, the so-called Hollow Ground Primary Bevel. In the front part, we have a high Flat Ground reinforcing tip grind. To improve piercing capabilities, an unsharpened false blade is brought out at the top. Ball bearings support the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. We can also open the knife using the oval opening in the blade (thumb hole). The whole thing is locked with a proven and popular liner lock.
Handle – grips made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a lightweight material, insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges and surface texturing improves grip security. The solid backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. A two-position (right/left) lightweight wire clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upward. Above the clip a hole for threading a safety or decorative cord.
