CPM MagnaCut – a powder stainless steel produced by the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more “conventional” steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut succeeded in creating a steel that combines the unique properties of knife steels like no other. The result is a blade material that offers a remarkable balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is no other steel on the world market today that offers a comparable combination of superior properties. This exceptional steel is manufactured at Crucible® Industries’ American steel mills.
Blade – drop point type, finished in an elegant Satin method. The generous belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind guarantees excellent cutting properties almost on the level of a razor. Ceramic ball bearings support the opening of the blade with a quick index-finger flipper when opened acting as a stag. The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert to prevent the lock face from rubbing off.
ReF – (Removable Flipper System) located on the underside of the blade protrusion / flipper fin assisted by Double Crown makes it easy to open the blade with one hand. It consists of a small lever (protrusion) that extends beyond the back of the Handle when the Blade is closed. In the open position, the protrusion acts as a stinger, protecting the hand from slipping on the blade. In the folder, it is possible to unscrew the Removable Flipper System lever (unscrew the flipper fin, then insert the second screw included in the box) and open the blade with both hands. This is important in countries where there is a ban on knives with one-handed opening blades in public places.
Handle – the presentation side is made of Canvas Micarta, the locking side is made of titanium 6AL4 liners screwed to a CNC-milled titanium backspacer, which means that such a design is virtually indestructible. Chamfering of the cover eliminates sharp edges for comfort, and a fore finger groove made on the front improves grip security. A two-position (right/left) titanium deep clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in tip-up (tip up) position. Under the clip, lanyard hole, a hole for a safety or decorative cord.
