Colossus Single Edge Gray Aluminum, Cerakote Two-Tone Black, Black HW/Cliphas a secure place in the Heretic Knives OTF line of automatic knives. The mechanism, which operates with great strength and power, uses a patent-pending slide action. Ball bearings used reduce friction for fast, smooth blade locking. Grip enhancing inserts on both sides of the Handle give remarkable style as well as functionality. The double-sided clip makes this an ideal knife for right- or left-handed users.
CPM MagnaCut – Powdered stainless steel produced using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more 'conventional’ steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM, MagnaCut has managed to create a steel that combines unique properties like no other knife steel. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is currently no other steel on the world market that offers a comparable combination of excellent properties. This unique steel is produced in the US steel mills of Crucible® Industries.
Blade – Single Edge type finished in a striking Two Tone method, the bevels coated with black PVD, the rest satin-finished. Plain blade, derived with a high Flat Grind for excellent cutting properties. The short grain increases the strength of the blade. As a result, the knife has excellent piercing properties while retaining its strength. The mechanism of extending/retracting the blade by means of a mottled slider requiring, for safety, the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The opening method ensures trouble-free opening for both right- and left-handed people.
Handle – made on CNC milling machines with perfect precision, from 6061-T6 grey aluminium with perfectly matched inserts. The material of the inserts resembles sandpaper in texture so that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. The Handle is notched (jimping) for a more secure grip. The slim design allows the knife to be stored in any pocket. Two-position clip (right/left), allows the knife to be carried in tip-down position. The clip attachment includes a glass breaker.
