D2 – high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 59-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
Blade – Cleaver type (cleaver) finished in a striking Two Tone method, blades satin-finished, the rest of the blade with the tip of the head finished with Stonewash. The slightly curved cutting edge converges towards the sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearing ceramic supports the opening of the blade with a quick flipper (index-finger flipper) when opened acting as a stag. A section of the blade’s back is covered with an upper jimping, notched thumb rest for easy control of the knife. The whole thing is locked with the proven and popular liner lock.
Handle – grips made of Micarta, a plastic that is insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges and textured surfaces improve grip security. The solid backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. A single-position, right-handed clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upward.
