AISI 440(AmericanIron andSteelInstitute) high-carbon (min. 0.95%) martensitic stainless steel with a hardness of 57–59 HRC, offering impressively high strength and corrosion resistance, containing a minimum of 16% chromium. The high carbon content leads to the formation of chromium carbide compounds, which provide excellent wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, this steel is suitable for the production of cutting tools, knife and scissor blades, as well as medical instruments.
Blade – Clip point type finished with Stonewashed method. Small thickness of the blade in combination with high, flat grindgives excellent geometry of the cutting edge and extreme cutting efficiency. The pads support the smooth operation of the opening mechanism of the blade, which can be opened by a spring activated by a button on the handle. The whole is locked with a solid button lock.
Handle – black G10 facings (fiberglass compressed with synthetic resin) mounted to steel frame. Metal bolsters on the front and back. Chamfered cover edges eliminate sharp edges, textured liner surface for comfort and sure grip. Comes with a black Cordura pouch for carrying the knife.
