SR2A Red Aluminum, Black lightweight rugged compact EDC knife from Italian manufactory LionSTEEL. A smaller version of the famous SR-1 first folder in exclusive Solid® Knife technology with a blade made of high-alloy Sleipner Uddeholm tool steel.
Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known and respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (a.k.a. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experimentation in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in knife design.
Sleipner – a versatile high-alloy chrome-molybdenum-vanadium tool steel with high wear and chipping resistance with a balanced alloy composition: chromium content of 7.8% (Cr), 0.9% carbon (C), molybdenum 2.5% (Mo) and vanadium 0.5% (V). It achieves a high hardness of 60-62 HRC. Manufactured at Uddeholm steel mill.
Blade – Drop Point type with clearly marked belly provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Plain blade was derived with Flat Grind, which is perfectly presented by matte black Mil Spec coating. A Thumb Stud on both sides of the blade, assisted by IKBS, makes it easy to open the blade. On the back of the upper jimping wedge, a notched thumb rest.
IKBS – (ball bearing system) enables fast, smooth opening of the blade.
Solid Frame-Lock – a reinforced, monolithic aluminum blade lock. One of the facings acts as the locking mechanism, and is reinforced with a hardened steel insert to prevent the face of the lock from rubbing off.
RotoLock – a lock with a patented additional locking mechanism in the shape of a titanium shield by Gianni Pauletta. When the knife is open, turning the RotoLock about 1/8 turn clockwise wedges the locking mechanism, preventing unintentional release of the blade lock, provides stability of the blade identical to knives with a fixed blade.
Handle – made with Solid® Knife technology, obtained from a single piece of aluminum, machined in 3D and dyed red. As a result, a monolithic skeleton (body) of the highest strength was obtained, which is a solid structural element. Facings with CNC-machined, perpendicular to the length of the handle improving texture gouges for better grip. A protrusion at the bottom of the handle (hilt) protects the hand from slipping on the blade. Two-position left/right metal clip, allows you to carry the knife in tip-up (tip up) position. In the back of the lanyard hole tang, a rope hole and a stainless steel clip retaining screw that can be used as a glass striker.
Packaging – the knife is delivered in an elegant cardboard box, which also contains a pivot-pin-adjustment tool key for adjusting the opening force of the blade or for attaching the clip.
