Herbertz Solingen Bowie, Black Coated is a great companion for field use. AISI 420 stainless steel blade with combo blade, full-length handle, hard plastic sheath, Belt and thigh attachment.
AISI 420 (American Iron and Steel Institute) martensitic stainless steel rich in 0.15% carbon, containing min. 12% chromium, which offers high hardenability in the 54-56 HRC range, as well as strength, toughness, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds for wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for manufacturing cutting tools, knife blades and medical instruments.
Blade – a solid Straight Back, Combo type blade with a long, serrated part of the cutting edge. Concave grind (Hollow Grind) gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The blade has been black-coated. Reinforcement on both sides stiffens the entire blade giving it high strength.
Handle – full-size, easy to grasp even with tactical or winter gloves. The large double guard prevents the hand from slipping on the blade. The pea-shaped texture of the grip provides excellent grip. The wide head prevents the handle from slipping out of the hand.
Sheath- perfectly fitting hard plastic sheath, can be worn on the belt, additional holes for attachment straps to the thigh panel or directly to the thigh.
