Cleric IIDE Black Aluminium / Carbon Fiber, Stonewashedis a knife that epitomises the perfect combination of darkness and divinity. Larger than the original, it is made with incredible attention to detail. Its sinister elegance is immediately apparent. Increasing the overall length by 1.25 inches, the II version maximises the blade-to-handle ratio making the Cleric II blade one of the longest in the Heretic Knives range. The slim handle mimics the shapes and recesses of the original Cleric, with a textured liner that is both striking and functional. Activated by a textured thumb slide on the front of the handle, this powerful blade lives up to expectations and redefines what an OTF knife can be!
CPM MagnaCut – Powdered stainless steel produced using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened between 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more 'conventional’ steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM, MagnaCut has managed to create a steel that combines unique properties like no other knife steel. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is currently no other steel on the world market that offers a comparable combination of excellent properties. This exceptional steel is produced in the American steel mills of Crucible® Industries.
Blade – Double Edge type (sharpened on both sides) finished with a scratch-masking Stonewashed finish. Plain blade, derived with a high Flat Grind for excellent cutting properties. The centrally positioned bevel increases the strength of the blade. As a result, the knife has excellent piercing qualities whilst retaining its strength. The mechanism of extending / retracting the blade by means of a mottled slider requiring, for safety, the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The opening method is dedicated to right-handed people.
Handle – made on CNC milling machines with perfect precision, from black-coated 6061-T6 aluminium with perfectly matched Carbon Fiber inserts. The texture of the inserts means that the knife does not slip in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the handle for a more secure grip. The blue colour of the slide and clip contrasts beautifully with the black of the handle. The slim design allows the knife to be tucked into any pocket. The two-position clip (right/left), allows the knife to be carried in a tip-down position. The handle is finished with a glass breaker.
