H-2 – improved austenitic stainless knife steel is the successor to H-1 steel, produced by Japanese steel foundry Myodo Foundry. High-chromium, low-carbon (rolled without heat treatment) stainless steel contains 13.73% chromium, 0.09% carbon, 0.17% copper and 0.06% nitrogen. The knife can stay in fresh water as well as sea water, and will not rust even when left wet after use. The result was achieved by adding chromium and nickel to the steel, and replacing some of the carbon with nitrogen. All internal parts of the steel have undergone special treatment, making them resistant to rust and salt.
Blade – with Clip Point profile, 2.9 mm thick. Enlarged 14 mm circular cutout in the SpyderHole wedge (Spyderco patent) increased the hump of the thumb support (notched ramp) and made it possible to open the knife with wet or cold hands and in a glove. The Plain blade was led out with a concave grind (Hollow Grind) for effective, deep cuts. Blade Back-Lock with an additional Boye Detent notch, preventing accidental release of the lock when gripping the knife firmly.
Handle – in yellow color. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass reinforced nylon material. Covered with non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing (Bi-Directional Texturing) that strengthens the grip even with wet hands Folder is equipped with a solid screw-on black steel clip (top/bottom, left/right) that allows you to carry the knife in tip-up or tip-down position. In the back of the grips a hole (lanyard hole) for pulling a lanyard or cord.
