Herbertz Solingen Neck Knife, Stonewash is a sturdy and extremely lightweight knife with a fixed blade made of AISI 420 steel. Monolithic construction combined with solid thickness gives adequate „power reserve” for the most demanding applications. Comes with a functional hard plastic sheath. Characteristic „skeletonized” handle.
AISI 420 (American Iron and Steel Institute) martensitic stainless steel rich in 0.15% carbon, containing min. 12% chromium, which offers high hardenability in the 54-56 HRC range as well as strength, toughness, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds for wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for manufacturing cutting tools, knife blades and medical instruments.
Blade – a solid Drop Point type blade, Plain smooth blade, high flat grind (Flat Grind) gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The blade has been finished with a scratch-masking and glare-preventing Stonewash method and coated in black. On the back of the blade notched upper jumping thumb rest.
Handle – an extension of the blade steel. Ascetic simplicity of design varied by holes along the length of the handle. In addition to aesthetic value, they are also used to attach a paracord cord to the handle and reduce the weight of the knife. The hole at the back of the handle can be used as a lanyard hole, i.e. a hole for a safety or decorative cord.
Sheath – a perfectly fitting sheath made of hard plastic, thanks to the included ball chain can be worn hanging around the neck.
