Elmax – considered the “best all-around knife steel”—is a modern alloy steel with a high content ofchromium 17.30% (Cr), carbon 1.70% (C), vanadium 3.00% (V), molybdenum 1.00% (Mo), and silicon 0.80% (Si). It is hardened to a range of 57–62 HRC.Elmax is produced using powder metallurgy, a process that involves mixing finely powdered materials, pressing them into the desired shape, and then heating them to sinter and permanently bond the structure. It is characterized by exceptional edge retention, high wear and corrosion resistance, and excellent dimensional stability. The steel is manufactured in Böhler-Uddeholm steelworks in Austria.
Blade – Wharncliffe type, with an elegant handmade Satin finish. The straight cutting edge converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high concave grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearings support the opening of the blade by means of a double-sided hole in the wedge (thumb hole). The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel liner to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle – grips made of Marble Carbon Fiber, a virtually indestructible plastic that is insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage, and titanium bolsters. The titanium backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. A single-position, right-handed titanium clip allows the knife to be carried in the tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upward. Above the clip a hole for threading a safety or decorative cord.
Case – the knife is packed in a zippered nylon soft pouch with the brand’s logo for safe carrying and storage of the folder.
