Mote Black Titanium, Gray Stonewashed everyday carry knife, designed by Polish designer Ostap Hel and made from the finest materials.
CPM S35VN – an American martensitic stainless steel designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it consists of 0.5% niobium carbides along with 3.0% vanadium and 14.0% chromium carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes it about 15-20% harder than S30V without losing wear resistance. It is also easier to machine and polish. The improved CPM strength of S35VN provides better resistance to edge chipping. The CPM process yields a very uniform, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Blade – drop point type opened with a flipper, so it can be easily used by right and left-handed people. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth operation of the opening mechanism. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind, gives us cutting properties almost on the level of a razor. On the back we find a perfectly made „jimping”, notches on which we can put our finger thus improving the grip and control of the knife during use. The blade has been finished using the „gray stonewash” method. The whole is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert that prevents the lock face from rubbing off.
Handle – two solid 6AL4V titanium facings finished in black. The two facings are connected to each other by a titanium backspacer. The simplicity and solidity of such a construction give the assurance of many years of use. The deep-carry, single-position (right) titanium clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. In the backspacer there is a place for threading a safety or decorative cord. As in other models, the pivot is decorated with a stylized manufacturer’s logo.
