CPM 20CV- one of the best tool steels in the world, an American premium martensitic stainless steel. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries according to the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. The CPM process yields a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide better wear resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler’s M390 steel or Carpenter’s CTS-204P. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of these three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 19.0% carbon, 20.0% chromium, 4.0% vanadium, 1.0% molybdenum and 0.6% tungsten. The high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes 20CV one of the best high-end corrosion-resistant steels.
Blade – Drop point, slim and extremely sharp, made of CPM-20CV steel, currently one of the best tool steels in the world. The blade is finished in Black Stonewashed method which masks minor scratches caused by use. The smooth Plain blade has a high hollow chisel grind which provides strength, excellent cutting-edge geometry and extreme cutting and penetration performance. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth and seamless operation of the blade’s opening mechanism, which can be opened with a gently notched front flipper. The entire mechanism is locked with a proven Liner Lock.
Handle – made of two pieces of titanium, for improved grip complemented by an inlay of black Twill Carbon Fiber, milled by 3D CNC machine tools. This provides incredible strength, but requires the highest skill and precision in manufacturing. The pivot axis is adorned with a stylized WE brand logo. Right-side, one-position titanium deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position.
Case – knife is packaged in a zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer’s logo for safe storage and transport of the folder.
