Kitefin Marble Carbon Fiber / Black Ti, Polished Bead Blastedis an everyday carry knife made from the finest materials. The drop point blade is made from CPM S35VN steel, which is an improved version of the popular CPM S30V steel.
CPM S35VN – an American martensitic stainless steel designed to provide improved strength over CPM S30V, while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides along with 3.0% vanadium and 14.0% chromium carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes it about 15-20% harder than S30V without losing wear resistance. It is also easier to machine and polish. The improved CPM strength of S35VN provides better resistance to edge chipping. The CPM process produces a very uniform, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Opens with a flipper, so it can be easily used by left and right-handed people. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth operation of the opening mechanism. Small thickness of the blade in combination with high, concave grind gives us cutting properties almost on the level of a razor. On the back we find perfectly made „jimping”, notches on which we can put our finger to improve grip and control over the knife during use. The blade was finished with „polished bead blast” method. The knife is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert that prevents the lock face from rubbing off.
Handle – is on one side Marble Carbon Fiber with a unique pattern, on the other a solid piece of 6AL4V titanium with black coating. Both facings are connected to each other by a titanium backspacer. The simplicity and solidity of this construction assure many years of use. One-position (right) deep carry clip made of titanium allows you to carry the knife in tip-up position. Next to the clip there is a lanyard hole for attaching a safety or decorative cord. As in other models, the pivot is decorated with a stylized logo of the manufacturer.
