AUS-10 produced at Takefu Special Steel Corporation’s steel mills based in Fukui, Japan, a vanadium-rich 0.3% (V), molybdenum-rich 1.20% (Mo) and cobalt-rich 1.5% (Co) high-carbon stainless steel. The balanced combination of high carbon content of 1.05% (C) and chromium content of 15.50% (Cr) makes a stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance, high hardness (hardened to around 60 HRC) and the ability to hold an edge for a long time. As a result, knives made from AUS-10 are easy to sharpen, delivering a razor-sharp edge with exceptional performance.

It is a more aesthetic variant of the classic black stonewashed finish.
