Mini Buster Tiger Stripe Titanium, Silver Bead Blasted is one of the unconventional designs by Malaysian knifemaker and designer Snecx Tan. Based on the custom Buster knife, the compact version of the knife is one of the most exciting folders available in production and at an attractive price.
Snecx Tan – considered the most mechanically innovative knife designer in the world Malaysian knifemaker and designer famous for his unique custom knives from Snecx Design Lab. Snecx Design Lab was established in 2015 to create the IFS-20 concept boltless knife, which made Snecx Tan a legend in the knife world.
CPM 20CV – one of the best tool steels in the world, an American premium martensitic stainless steel. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries according to the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. The CPM process yields a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide better wear resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler’s M390 steel or Carpenter’s CTS-204P. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of these three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 19.0% carbon, 20.0% chromium, 4.0% vanadium, 1.0% molybdenum and 0.6% tungsten. The high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes 20CV one of the best high-end corrosion-resistant steels.
Blade – sheepfoot type finished with a scratch-masking Silver Bead Blasted finish. It opens with a flipper flipper, so it can be easily used by right and left-handed people. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth operation of the opening mechanism. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind, gives us cutting properties almost on the level of a razor. On the back you will find a perfectly made „jimping”, notches on which we can put our finger thus improving the grip and control of the knife during use. The whole thing is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert that prevents wiping of the lock face.
Handle – is thick pieces of titanium 6AL4V, finished with a pattern of tiger stripes. Connected to each other by a titanium backspacer. The simplicity and solidity of the design give confidence in many years of use. The single-position clip (right), made of titanium, allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. The backspacer has a hole for threading a safety or decorative cord. As in other models, the pivot axis is decorated with a stylized manufacturer’s logo.
Case – a zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer’s logo is included for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
